We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (AI & Orchestration) to help turn innovative ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. In this role, you will combine strong backend engineering expertise with architectural thinking, helping shape the technical foundations that enable AI capabilities across Keylane. Key about your role
As a Senior Software Engineer (AI & Orchestration), you will play a key role in turning innovative ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. While you will be part of Keylane's AI team, your focus will be on the backend services, integrations, and platform capabilities that enable AI-powered functionality across our products.
Working closely with architects, software engineers, and AI specialists, you will investigate new technologies, validate architectural approaches, and develop prototypes that help shape technical direction across Keylane. You will be trusted to take ownership of complex technical challenges, translating open questions into practical recommendations and working solutions.
You will design and build backend services that support AI capabilities and their integration into Keylane's core systems. This includes developing scalable APIs, integration services, and cloud-native applications using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Python, Azure, and modern development tooling. You will contribute to architectural discussions around distributed systems, event-driven integration patterns, security, observability, and platform engineering, helping ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and reliable in production.
As a senior engineer, you will actively mentor colleagues, contribute to design discussions, and help raise engineering standards through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical leadership. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction across Keylane while growing towards broader architectural responsibilities over time.

You will join Keylane's AI team, a growing group focused on enabling and accelerating AI innovation across the organization. The team works closely with product development teams, architects, and engineering specialists to explore new opportunities and deliver AI-powered capabilities that create value for our customers.

New ideas are encouraged, but success is measured by the ability to turn those ideas into reliable, maintainable solutions that can operate at scale. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and are comfortable working in environments where not every answer is known upfront. You combine strong software engineering fundamentals with curiosity, pragmatism, and a desire to continuously improve both technology and ways of working.
You bring:
It would be great if you also have experience with technologies and concepts such as Java, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, AI-enabled development tools, or AI platform technologies. Experience within a regulated environment such as insurance, pensions, banking, or financial services is considered a plus.
